In Nashville, we believe quality of life is determined by our communities. That’s why we created NashVitality, a program that promotes a healthy lifestyle by celebrating active and green communities within Nashville.

Our Mission:
NashVitality celebrates the spirit creating healthy, active and green communities in Nashville. Our quality of life is determined by our communities: where we live, work, learn, worship and play. We eat better when healthy food is more available than junk food and sugary beverages, and we move more when we have safe, inviting places nearby to be active. NashVitality aims to make Nashville’s communities healthier so we can all live longer, healthier lives.
NashVitality was made possible through funding from the Metro Public Health Department Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). CPPW Nashville aims to create greater access to nutritious foods and safe physical activity, through, and environmental change in our communities.

Research shows that when students eat healthy and are more physically active, they do better in school. With the help of CDC, communities nationwide are putting this research into practice, year-round.
Learn more about what communities are doing to help schools become places where students not only learn about the importance of eating healthier and being more physically active but, in fact, eat healthier and move more.
