Two important partners with Public Health Departments’ Communities Putting Prevention to Work Obesity Prevention Initiative, the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and Working Partnerships USA, recently submitted op-eds to the San Jose Mercury News.
Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) represents more than 375 Silicon Valley employers. On June 6 SVLG announced the launch of “Let’s Move Silicon Valley Businesses” at its Health Happens in the Workplace event. This represents a new effort to motivate regional businesses to implement cost saving workplace wellness programs for employees and their families to tackle the obesity epidemic.
Working Partnerships USA is a social change organization founded by labor and community groups to develop and advocate for policies, including health, that benefit the local community.
